Maria Backes and Michael Cosgrove, both of Clarksville, Tenn., were married at 2 p.m., November 25, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Clarksville, Tenn. Fr. Steven Wolf performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Tim and Karen Backes, Jefferson City. The groom is the son of Barbara Stack, Yonkers, N.Y., and Martin Cosgrove, Bronx, N.Y. A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at Old Glory Distilling Company. The bride is a 2011 graduate of Helias Catholic High School, Jefferson City; a 2015 graduate of Truman State University, Kirksville, with a B.S. in Athletic Training; and a 2017 graduate of Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Ky., with a M.S. Recreation and Sport Administration. She is an Athletic Trainer with Baptist Health Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. The groom is a 2011 graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Yonkers, N.Y., and a 2015 graduate of The Citadel, Charleston, S.C., with a degree in Political Science. He is a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. After a wedding trip to the Florida Keys, the couple resides in Clarksville, Tenn.
