Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Bax, Freeburg, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday with a Mass of Thanksgiving at Holy Family Church, Freeburg, followed by a reception, dinner and dance at the American Legion Hall, Freeburg. They also enjoyed a 12 day family Hawaiian Land and Cruise Vacation in January 2018. Gerhard Bax Jr. and Virginia Sandbothe were married May 25, 1968 at Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna. The late Rev. Jerome Bestgen officiated. They were attended by Margie Haslag, Loose Creek; Mary Jane Wieberg and Art Sandbothe, Vienna; Rita Haller, Freeburg; Patsy Nelson, Linda Tobar, and Tony Luebbering, Jefferson City; Elmer and Rita Bax, Westphalia; and the late Joe Reichel and Robert Bax. Mr. and Mrs. Bax have two children: Cindy (Bryan) Luebbering, Taos, and Brenda (Chris) Feeler, Vienna. They also have five grandchildren: Todd Feeler, Owen Luebbering, Brooke Feeler, Blaine Feeler, and Ethan Luebbering; and one great-granddaughter, Bonnie Feeler.
