Danielle McAfee and Daniel Thoenen, both of Columbia, were married April 7 in a private ceremony in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Nancy Cheak-Zamora, friend of the couple, performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of David and Lisa Leggans, and Jan and Jeff Lacey, all of Mt. Vernon, Ill. The groom is the son of Dan and Bev Thoenen, Jefferson City. Special attendant to the couple was Evelyn McAfee, daughter of the bride. The bride is a 2003 graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School, Mt. Vernon, Ill.; a 2006 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, Ill., and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2010. The groom is a 2006 graduate of Helias High School and a 2011 graduate of Westminster College, Fulton. The couple resides in Columbia.
