Mikayla Rose Knaebel, Wardsville, and Benjamin Leo Welch, Columbia, were married at 2 p.m., March 16, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Jefferson City. Fr. I.C. Medina performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Michael and Lori Knaebel, Wardsville. The groom is the son of Edward and Jeanne Welch, Columbia. A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at Capital Bluffs Event Center. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents was held March 15 at Capital Bluffs Event Center. The bride is a 2012 graduate of Blair Oaks High School, Wardsville, and a 2016 graduate of Columbia College, Columbia, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She is in third year of medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, Joplin. The groom is a 2013 graduate of Hickman High School, Columbia; a 2017 graduate of the University of MO-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science; and a 2019 graduate of the University of Nebraska, Omaha, Neb., with a Master of Arts in Athletic Training. He is employed by Mercy Sports Medicine as Head Athletic Trainer at Central High School, Springfield. After a wedding trip to St. Maarten, the couple resides in Joplin.
