Dan and Bev Thoenen, Jefferson City, announce the engagement of their son, Sam Thoenen, Prairie Village, Kan., to Anna McCabe, Prairie Village, Kan., son of Mike and Marlene McCabe, Olathe, Kan. An October 22 wedding is planned in Kansas City. The bride-to-be is a 2010 graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, Overland Park, Kan.; a 2014 graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind., with a Bachelor in Journalism; and a graduate of the University of St. Mary, Leavenworth, Kan., with a Masters in Elementary Education. She is an elementary teacher with the Olathe School District. The groom-to-be is a 2010 graduate of Helias High School, Jefferson City, and a 2014 graduate of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kan., with a Bachelors in Finance. He is employed in software sales.
