Melissa Lemmel Lockwood and Cristian Alberto Gómez Banquet, both of Nassau, The Bahamas, were married at 4 p.m., January 28, at Royal Blue Golf Club, Nassau, The Bahamas. Rev. Roy Burrows performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Lu and Bill Lockwood, Jefferson City.
The groom is the son of Libia Banquet and Eleuterio Gómez, Cali, Colombia.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a champagne boho-style A-line gown featureing a vintage inspired beaded bodice accented in crystals and sheer side insets, beaded straps and a V-back. She carried a bouquet of a tropical mixture of roses, peonies, ranunculus, and pink ginger.
The honor attendant was Sheila Jaegers Smith, Jefferson City, friend of the bride. The attendants were Amber McKinney, Fort Worth, Texas, friend of the bride; Olivia Wyrick, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, friend of the bride; and Tatiana Gómez, Cali, Colombia, sister of the groom.
The best man was Harold Orozco, Cali, Colombia, friend of the groom. The groomsmen included Telly Gómez, Cali, Colombia, brother of the groom; Camilio Soto, Cali, Colombia, friend of the groom; and Santiago Gómez, Cali, Colombia, brother of the groom.
The flower girls were Valery Castrillón, daughter of Tatiana Gómez and Danny Castrillón, Cali, Colombia, niece of the groom; and Charley and Alex Banner, daughters of Britt and Bryan Banner, Nassau, The Bahamas, friends of the couple.
A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at Royal Blue Golf Club.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the couple, was held January 26 at Costa at Rosewood Baha Mar.
The bride is a graduate of Jefferson City High School, Jefferson City; the University of Missouri-Columbia with a B.S. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism; and the University of North Texas, Denton, Texas, with a M.S. in Recreation and Leisure Studies. She is General Manager at Baha Bay Waterpark.
The groom is a graduate of Institución Nacional Simón Araujo, Sincelejo, Colombia, and Universidad del Valle, Cali, Columbia, with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is Development Project Manager with the Bahamas Environmental Group.
After a wedding trip to New York City, Madrid, Spain, and Lisbon, Portugal, the couple resides in Nassau, The Bahamas.
