Julie Elizabeth Johnson became the bride of Michael Gordon Rediker in a ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 7, at Independent Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Ala. Dr. Conrad Sharps and the Rev. Frank William Sutterlin Jr. performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Christopher Johnson III. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. John Michael Rediker of Birmingham. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Caroline Aurore Estabrook was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Susan Dobbins Harris, Virginia Paynter Rediker, Katherine Kelly Scott, Dorothy Louisa Walsky, Erin Elizabeth Straub and Catherine Elaine Womack. Virginia Pendleton Slaughter was the flower girl. James Eaton Rediker served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Winston Ellis Bradley III, Arthur Page Sloss Crenshaw, Daniel Wilson Jones, James Rollin Snow, Christopher Scott Johnson, John Bowron Rediker and Victor Thomas Sherrel. Arthur John Balfour Slaughter was ring bearer. Theodore Robert Roe was the acolyte. A reception was held at The Club. After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Birmingham.
