Hits 96 honoring slain service members with concert featuring MKTO and Karmin

Hits 96, WDOD-FM 96.5 will host a few showcase with recording artists MKTO and Karmin on Aug. 14 at Rhythm & Brews at 221 Market St., honoring the military service members who were shot on July 16 in Chattanooga.

The showcase will be open to the first 150 that provide a donation of any denomination which will benefit the 7-16 freedom fund, according to a news release from the station.

The 7-16 fund, founded by the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, was set up to help cover post secondary scholarships and expenses for the families of those affected by the tragedy.

"These two artists reached out and made it known they were 'Nooga Strong' after learning of the horrific events of July 16th," said Operations Manager Danny Howard.
