Restaurant Report Card for the week ending May 27, 2018

Restaurant Report Card

The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department inspects restaurants twice a year and grades the businesses on a 100-point scale. Scores below 70 require corrective action. Restaurants are reinspected if they fail to meet critical standards. To file a health-related complaint, call the Department of Environmental Health at 209-8110. The scores are original and do not reflect on-the-spot changes, which sometimes lead to upward adjustments.

One failure reported for the week ending May 27, 2018:

65 Tacos El Cunao

5813 Lee Highway

A failing score is below 70. The inspector noted roaches on the walls and utensils and classified it as a contamination. Employees were not washing their hands between tasks and food prep. There were dents in several food cans, which poses a safety hazard.

75 Subway

3641 Brainerd Road

The restaurant was docked points from the inspector due to employees not washing hands between tasks and not demonstrating any food safety knowledge.
