Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office investigating Silverdale inmate death

A Silverdale Detention Center inmate died Tuesday evening, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services responded arrived at the detention center about 7:30 p.m. in response to a medical emergency call involving an unresponsive male inmate. The inmate was then taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead and his next of kin were notified, the news release stated.

At the request of the Hamilton County District Attorney, HCSO Investigative Services will conduct a death investigation, according to the news release.

The body of the inmate has been taken to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office for the cause and manner of death to be determined. Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be turned over to the District Attorney for review, the release stated.
