For more than four decades, Roger Pickett and his family have been a reliable part of the region's business landscape. Owners of Murmaid Mattress, the Picketts have grown their business from a small store on Lee Highway to 11 locations throughout the Tennessee Valley.
A foundational principle central to Murmaid Mattress is a commitment to "corporate tithing." Roger, his family and employees support the communities they serve by collecting and cleaning gently-used mattresses, which they distribute to nonprofit organizations and families.
"We enjoy the act of unconditional giving, meaning we expect nothing in return," Roger says. "We want to offer those in need comfort that comes from a good night's sleep."
