QUICK LOOK AT THE WEEK
The Hunter Museum of American Art, 10 Bluff View, will open a summer exhibition Friday that journeys through centuries of fairy tales, myths and legends, encompassing sources that range from "The Epic of Gilgamesh," an epic poem from ancient Mesopotamia, to the modern stories of "Game of Thrones." Running through Sept. 5, "Enchanted: A History of Fantasy Illustration" is the second of three exhibitions celebrating the museum's 70th anniversary. An opening party, 6-8 p.m. Thursday, invites attendees to dress in a favorite fandom costume and create a fantasy mask and other enchanting accessories on site. In a perfect pairing, the exhibit is sponsored by Rock City, home of hundreds of gnomes. Learn more at huntermuseum.org.
