Pedestrian killed on I-75 Tuesday in Bradley County identified

A 73-year-old Tennessee man has been identified as the pedestrian killed in a collision with a vehicle Tuesday on Interstate 75 in Bradley County.

Robert Willingham was walking in the fast lane on I-75 when a northbound Ford Edge driven by Amanda Padgett, 27, struck him around 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The collision happened near the 37 mile marker. The incident previously was reported as having occurred between the 29 and 30 mile markers.

Padgett and a juvenile passenger were not injured and both were wearing their seat belts, the report states.

According to an emailed statement from Bradley County Sheriff's Office spokesman Paul Allen, sheriff's deputies and troopers reached the scene around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

No charges have been filed.
