A Chickamauga man was arrested last week after shots were fired in an incident at his neighbor's house.

Christopher Blake Stansell, 39, was arrested and booked on four counts of aggravated assault May 30, according to records from the Walker County Jail.

A Chickamauga Police Department officer was first to the scene, while Walker County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to assist. Walker County deputies helped the Chickamauga Police officer handcuff Stansell, who suffered a head injury after he was shocked with a stun gun, according to an incident report from the Sheriff's Office.

A representative from Chickamauga Police said in a phone call that the incident report from Stansell's arrest was not complete, and the investigation was still open.

In a recording on the Walker County Public Safety channel on Broadcastify from late in the evening of May 29, a dispatcher relayed a message to law enforcement from a 911 caller at the scene of the incident in Chickamauga.

"We just received another call," the dispatcher said. "Complainant's advising their neighbor just shot a gun at them. They've just fired another round, I can hear over the phone."

A few minutes later, the dispatcher said the caller was at an address next door to Stansell's home.

In the report from Walker County Sheriff's Office, a deputy was dispatched to the property just after 11 p.m. to assist the Chickamauga Police Department.

A Chickamauga Police officer had already used a stun gun on Stansell, the report said, and was giving him verbal commands to roll over on his stomach. The Walker County deputy helped the police officer secure the scene and offered to help handcuff Stansell.

After rolling Stansell over, the deputy said he noticed a wound on the back of his head and advised the Chickamauga police officer to notify dispatch for medical attention, the report said. The deputy asked Stansell's wife for a towel, the report said, and the deputy administered first aid until emergency medical service arrived and transported Stansell to the Floyd County Hospital.

Stansell could not be reached for comment by cellphone or by his landline, and witnesses reported to be at the scene of the shooting could not be reached for comment.

According to the Walker County Jail's automated system, Stansell was released on a $100,000 property bond.
