Adams' hate group comments are true

Scott Adams' statement that certain organizations catering to Blacks are hate groups is true, in my opinion. The NAACP and Black Lives Matter do not care whether non-black Asians or whites succeed in this world.

Nowhere do these groups hold their own membership accountable for their own woes. Let's take Tennessee. In checking the Tennessee Department of Health's website, Blacks are more likely to be pregnant if under age 20; contract HIV; die as the result of homicide; be hospitalized for a motor vehicle injury; overdose from drugs. Whites are more likely to die from suicide or from a drug overdose.

I have personal opinions the left side of your paper does not agree with. Will you cancel us as subscribers? Hardly not. You like my money.

I now subscribe to Scott Adams' website where I can get my Dilbert fix every morning. He gets $70/year that he does not have to share with a distributor and a superior comic that in no way insults the left except to point out the fallacy of their thinking.

Scott said on his podcast yesterday that not one newspaper called him for a quote. So much for investigative reporting.

What's offensive to one not to the other

Big mistake dropping "Dilbert." If you want to rid the paper of offensive content, how about starting with Chattanooga Times cartoonist Clay Bennett and "Doonesbury"?

'Jeopardy' question brings D.C. clarity

A moment of clarity prompted by a Jeopardy "question" in the astronomy category: What unit of measure is 6 trillion miles? The answer -- a light year (the distance light travels in a year at a speed of 186,000 miles per second: 186,000 x 31,536,000 seconds in a year = 6 trillion, which is slightly less than 1/5 of the current national debt of $31 trillion). Of course these numbers are mostly incomprehensible, but what is comprehensible is the unwillingness among the political class to even discuss the weight of this debt and its inevitable calamitous effects.

The current president boasts endlessly of his legislative accomplishments (always on behalf of the middle class), which consist almost entirely of spending vast sums of borrowed money. His predecessor harrumphed at any suggestion that Social Security and Medicare must be reformed, even though the federal government itself declares that without reform each of these entitlements will have to be severely curtailed in less than 10 years.

Meanwhile, the 80-year-old coyly suggests he may serve until he's 86, and the predecessor continues to harp on an election lost two years ago. Oh, for a Cincinnatus who would renounce his power once the hard task was completed or for a Washington who would forswear a crown for the sake of the republic.

Thanks offered for locating husband

A thank-you to law enforcement in Hamilton County. My husband, who has dementia, wandered from from home in the early morning of Feb. 22.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, the Chattanooga Police Department, game and wildlife staff, and even Collegedale Police came out to search for him.

He was found in less then two hours. To all of you, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I now have a tracker on his shoe.
