The leading COVID-19 state
I long for the day that COVID-19 doesn't dominate the news cycle (and these newsletter intros), but this just isn't that kind of week. As of Tuesday, Tennessee was leading the nation in new COVID-19 cases per capita over the past week as well as since the start of the pandemic, and that's not a distinction that any state ever wants. I'm tired of writing these types of stories, and I can only imagine how tired the nurses and doctors who care for COVID-19 patients are at this point. I'm thankful for all of those who continue to share their insight for my articles despite the ongoing pandemic. Even though these aren't fun stories to write, they're important ones.
