4 people taken to hospitals after carbon monoxide scare in Georgia

PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. - Fire officials say they found high levels of carbon monoxide in a suburban Atlanta home, where four people were taken to a hospital to be evaluated.

Gwinnett County fire crews were called to the home in Peachtree Corners early Tuesday. Fire officials said in a statement that two children, around 3 to 4 years old, were taken to Children's Hospital of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.

The two adults in the residence were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.

Information on their conditions wasn't released.

Fire officials say they found "extremely dangerous" levels of carbon monoxide near the furnace area.
