THOMSON, Ga. -- A Thomson High School teacher has been arrested following an investigation into allegations of sexual conduct with a student.
Multiple news outlets report 37-year-old Jennifer McCall Hubert was taken into custody Tuesday. She was booked into the McDuffie County Detention Center on a felony charge of sexual assault by person with supervisory or disciplinary authority.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to assist the county sheriff's office Monday.
Special Agent in Charge Pat Morgan says the investigation revealed that Hubert and the 16-year-old male student had been engaging in sexual conduct since September.
A statement issued from the McDuffie County Board of Education says it was "deeply saddened and shocked to report this matter." It further stated that Hubert is no longer affiliated with the school system.
