Early voting numbers in for Chattanooga City Council runoff elections

UPDATE: at 8:20 p.m.: Both incumbents have been defeated.

Oglesby defeated Anderson, 740 votes to 628.

Coonrood beat Hakeem by a wide margin, 700 votes to 467.

UPDATE at 8 p.m.: With only one precinct outstanding, Coonrood leads Hakeem 700 votes to 467. Oglesby leads Anderson, 537 votes to 398.

UPDATE at 7:52 p.m.: With eight of the 13 precincts reporting for the District 7 and District 9 city council seat runoff election, incumbents Anderson and Hakeem are falling behind.

Oglesby leads Anderson, 355 to 310 votes, while Coonrod leads Hakeem 632 to 419.

UPDATE at 7:45 p.m.: Hamilton County Commission shows Oglesby leads Anderson, 277 to 260 votes with a couple of precincts reporting in District 7.

Coonrod leads Hakeem, 376 votes to 275 votes in District 9, with three of the district's seven precincts reporting.

Original post at 7:15 p.m.: Early voting numbers are in for two runoff elections for the Chattanooga City Council.

As of 7:15 p.m., Demetrus Coonrod leads Councilman Yusuf Hakeem, 257 to 176, in the runoff election for the District 9 seat.

The early voting numbers are very close for Councilman Chris Anderson and challenger Erskine Oglesby, who have received 182 and 176 votes, respectively. The pair are competing in the District 7 seat runoff.
