ORIGINAL STORY: The Rhea County Sheriff's Office says a suspect in a Dayton, Tenn., death investigation is being charged with criminal homicide.

The charge follows the death investigation of Thomas "Skipper" Wilkey, 51, who was found dead in his Dayton Mountain home this morning, department spokesman Jeff Knight said this evening.

"We are working on this investigation with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation," Knight said. "One person has been taken into custody but we cannot release the suspect's name at this time."

The suspect was taken into custody this afternoon, Knight said.

TBI spokeswoman Susan Niland said the death investigation scene is a residence in the 1200 block of Walker Town Road in Dayton.

"There is one individual deceased at that location, and law enforcement officers are at this time investigating the circumstances of that death," Niland said.

She would not confirm the identities of the victim or suspect.

TBI became involved with the investigation at the request of 12th District Attorney General Michael Taylor, Niland said.
