The Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner's Office is offering a $10,000 reward for any information about two fires that destroyed vacant homes in Rossville this weekend.

The first fire broke out in the 200 block of E. Peachtree Street on Friday; the second occurred Saturday in the 700 block of Short Street. Investigators believe both fires were set on purpose. Combined, the fires caused $60,000 worth of damage.

"We believe these incidents are connected," Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Deputy Jay Florence said. "The homes are approximately two blocks apart, and a similar method was used to start the fire. Whoever is setting these fires should be considered dangerous."

Anyone with information can call the Georgia Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804.
