UPDATE: Chattanooga police have identified the victim of a fatal gunshot wound Tuesday night.
Deonte James, 23, was found inside a vehicle at 2700 Lightfoot Mill Road and pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.

ORIGINAL STORY: A call concerning a suspicious vehicle found at 2700 Lightfoot Mill Road has turned into a homicide investigation.
Deonte JamesNorfolk Southern Police reported a suspicious vehicle on the side of the roadway thought to be abandoned.
When police arrived they found a victim inside suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency officials pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
The victim is a validated gang member, according to police. It is currently unknown if the incident is gang motivated.
The name of the victim will be released after the family is notified.
