Dalton police are investigating a serious crash that occurred Wednesday evening, leaving one driver with life-threatening injuries.
The crash happened at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Sheridan Avenue when a white 2005 Ford Mustang driven by 18-year-old Austin Burnette collided with a silver 2002 Toyota Corolla driven by 18-year-old Keiri Suarez.
Suarez apparently attempted to turn left onto Sheridan Avenue and Burnette was unable to stop and avoid the collision.
Burnette suffered minor injuries and a passenger in his vehicle suffered a potentially broken ankle. Suarez was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are considered severe and life-threatening.
This crash is still being investigated by the DPD's Traffic Unit. At this time, no charges have been filed.
