1 felony murder count dropped against teens in teen's death

PERRY, Ga. (AP) - A grand jury has issued a new indictment against two teens charged in the slaying of an 18-year-old Georgia man, dropping one count of felony murder.

The Telegraph of Macon reports Tuesday's indictment says 18-year-old Dakota White and 19-year-old Brandon Warren caused the October death of Sam Poss by ligature strangulation, dropping the references to the involvement of a plastic bag featured in the November indictment.

White and Warren were each indicted on one count of malice murder, felony murder, concealing the death of another, tampering with evidence and two counts of aggravated assault.

District Attorney George Hartwig declined comment on the reasons for the new indictment.

Both teens have pleaded not guilty.

White's attorney Angie Coggins declined comment to the paper and Warren's attorney Jeff Grube couldn't be reached.
