Police investigating East 4th Street shooting

Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting in the 1800 block of East 4th Street which sent one man to the hospital, according to a news release.

Officers responded Friday at 11:39 a.m. to a report of a person being shot and were advised that the victim had been transported to a local hospital via a private vehicle.

Investigators spoke to the victim, 42-year-old Broderick Autry, at the hospital and learned that he had been outside a residence when he was shot from a passing vehicle, according to the release.

Members of the Violent Crime Bureau are actively investigating the shooting. Anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
