Chattanooga police arrest suspect in Saturday night robbery

UPDATE: Officers arrested a man who threatened another man with a knife and robbed him on Saturday evening, according to a Chattanooga Police Department news release.

Romeo Romell Perkins was detained by an officer at 5 p.m. Wednesday night in the 800 block of West 12th St.

A robbery investigator interviewed Perkins and he admitted to robbing the victim using the knife collected as evidence and admitted to using the victim's credit card. Perkins then said he had the vehicle keys he took from the victim at his residence.

Perkins has been charged with aggravated robbery and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Investigator Boller is still following up on leads in this case for the other suspect and retrieval of property by the suspects during the robbery.

An investigator responded to a robbery report at 10:30 p.m. Saturday at 724 Cherry St.

The victim told the investigator he was walking to get his car when he noticed two black males following him. The suspects stopped him, threatened him with a large knife and told him to "give me all your money." Out of fear of being harmed the victim complied. The victim gave the suspect his wallet, cell phone and keys to his vehicle. The suspects then fled the area.

There were no witnesses or cameras in the area and nothing to process at the scene. The victim was able to provide a description of the suspects.
