Dalton police arrest man for allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend with knife, raping her several times

Dalton police arrested a man Sunday on charges that he raped his ex-girlfriend several times.

Luis Alberto Cordova-Calderon, of South Easterling Street, is charged with rape, aggravated stalking and burglary.

According to an incident report, he showed up at his ex-girlfriend's house about 2 p.m. Saturday and showed her a knife before raping her. He left about three hours later, but the woman didn't call police. She said she thought he was going to leave her alone after the alleged attack.

About 10 p.m. Saturday, however, according to the report, Cordova-Calderon returned, showed her the knife again. He allegedly raped her several times throughout the night. He left at 11 a.m. Sunday, and this time the girlfriend called 911.

Dalton Police Department Spokesman Bruce Frazier said officers learned Cordova-Calderon left the scene in a taxi. They called the cab company and found out he had been dropped off near his home. They found him soon after.
