NASHVILLE — The Tennessee General Assembly this afternoon adjourned its annual session following the passage of a flurry of last-minute bills earlier in the day.

Among other actions this year, state lawmakers this year approved the state's first fuel tax increase in 28 years, cut taxes and approved an expansion of a lottery-funded program that will now let adults attend state colleges tuition free.

Lawmakers first convened in January.
