Tuesday morning fire destroys Red Bank home

A woman's home has been destroyed following a fire that started Tuesday morning, according to a release from the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.

The Red Bank Fire Department responded to find fire in the back and out the front door of the house on the 100 block of Goodson Ave.

Firefighters were able to contain the flames, but the house was destroyed by substantial smoke and fire. No injuries were reported.

Fire officials said the resident was home at the time of the fire, and when she smelled something burning, she found the back of the house on fire.

The RBFD ruled the fire as accidental, and damages are listed as $61,000. The renter did not have rental insurance.

The American Red Cross will be assisting the woman with her emergency needs.
