UPDATE: I-24 eastbound in Marion County has been reopened after closing due to a cargo fire.

ORIGINAL STORY: A cargo fire has shut down the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 early Monday morning right before Monteagle Mountain at mile marker 144 in Marion County, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation's SmartWay website.
The incident was reported at 1:04 a.m. Monday and was estimated to be cleared by 3 a.m.
Eastbound traffic is affected with the roadway closed and traffic is being diverted to alternate routes. Westbound traffic is not affected.
