Albertville man arrested for drug-related offenses in DeKalb County, Ala.

A man was arrested Sunday for drug-related offenses after a traffic stop in DeKalb County, Ala.

Jose Mora Garcia, 25, of Albertville, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying concealed weapon and unlawful possession of controlled substance, according to a news release.

DeKalb County sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle on County Road 479 and County Road 1999 in the Kilpatrick area. When the deputy approached the vehicle, he smelt a strong odor coming from the vehicle.

The deputy initiated a search of Garcia, who was the passenger. A glass pipe, small bag of an off-white substance, and a pistol was found in his possession.

After Garcia was transported to DeKalb County Detention Center, he was found to have marijuana

and meth on his person, which led to him also being charged with "promote prison contraband 2nd," according to the news release.
