Escaped inmate added to Tennessee's most wanted list

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say a man who escaped a Tennessee jail after assaulting an officer has been added to the state's top 10 most wanted list.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said in a statement that 25-year-old Ezekiel Lee Thompson is wanted on charges of felony escape, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment stemming from an incident Thursday morning at the Cocke County Jail.

The statement says Thompson escaped on foot after assaulting a corrections officer.

The agency is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to Thompson's arrest.

Thompson is described as a 6-foot-1, 220-pound white man with blonde hair blue eyes. He has a cast on his left arm.

The bureau says Thompson should be considered dangerous and anyone who sees him should call police.
