Grundy County, Tenn., authorities are investigating the discovery of skeletal remains found on Friday in a remote location in Altamont, according to a news release from Sheriff Clint Shrum.
The identity has not been confirmed.
An anthropology team was called to excavate the scene and the State Medical Examiner's Office now has custody of the remains, Shrum said.
No further information is available at this time, he said.
