Storms knock TV station off the air, down trees, power lines in Chattanooga area

Strong storms which downed trees and power lines in the Chattanooga area knocked WRCB-TV off the air Tuesday evening.

A fallen tree damaged homes on Jarnigan Avenue in North Chattanooga and downed trees and power lines have been reported in Hixson, Red Bank and other areas in Hamilton County.

Power outages have been reported across Hamilton County.

EPB reports that electric restoration efforts are underway. Only minimal to scattered outages were being reported by 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
