East Ridge police have identified the man found dead inside a van on the 3900 block of Ringgold Road last night as 31-year-old Andrey Viktorovic Tkachenko of Chattanooga.
Fire department personnel responded to the address after being notified about a person slumped over in a van, according to a release from Stan Allan, assistant chief of the East Ridge Police Department.
The Hamilton County medical examiner responded to the scene and pronounced the Tkachenko dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation has found the man had an established history of prescription drug usage, but the cause of death is still under investigation.
