Sunday's shooting death on Mowbray Mountain ruled a homicide

The death of 69-year-old Roger Kelley has been ruled a homicide, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Kelley was shot at about 5 p.m. in the 1600 block of Hotwater Road on Mowbray Mountain on Sunday.

A medical examiner's report determined Kelley died as a result of the gunshot wound, which is why investigators are now treating it as a homicide.

No suspect has been detained or apprehended at this time, according to a news release.
