The Tennessee Supreme Court has disbarred Bradley County attorney Michael John McNulty for violating ethics rules, including taking $1,125 from a client he later abandoned. A news release from the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility said McNulty also falsified an email to a medical provider regarding a client's issue.
The board release said an investigation began and McNulty was found to have violated rules of ethical conduct related to diligence, communications, fees, representation, truthfulness, bar admission and misconduct. He must reimburse his former client and pay costs of the action.
The board release also said McNulty was disbarred in a prior disciplinary matter on Feb. 15, 2018. That disbarment remains in effect.
