ATLANTA (AP) - A Canadian man who coerced girls in Georgia and Mississippi to perform sexually explicit acts while they chatted online has been sentenced to 16 years in prison.

Yves Joseph Legault of Ontario pleaded guilty in September to coercing and enticing the production of child sexual exploitation images over the internet.

Prosecutors say the 54-year-old man met a 13-year-old girl from Marietta, Georgia, online in July 2017 and asked her to perform sex acts on live-streaming video. The girl's mother alerted authorities after intercepting a package Legault had sent the girl. Legault was arrested in August 2017 when he flew to Atlanta to have sex with the girl.

Investigators discovered that Legault had also asked an 8-year-old girl in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to engage in explicit sexual behavior as they chatted online.
