Fuel spill near Jersey Pike early Saturday morning; amount and source still unknown

A fuel spill early Saturday morning spread to the surrounding Metro Lawn Care and Eagle Transportation, LLC properties before being contained.

The cause and source of the spill are under investigation. A fire department spokesperson was also unsure how much fuel spilled.

The incident occurred on Geminus Drive near the intersection of Jersey Pike and Bonny Oaks Drive by Highway 153.

An environmental cleanup group was brought in and is being supervised by the city's stormwater division and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.

There were no reported injuries.
