ORIGINAL STORY: The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Dade County Sheriff's Office are investigating the death of a man found shot in a car in the 100 block of Highway 11 South on Saturday morning.

Someone called 911 around 12:15 a.m., reporting the homicide. When officers arrived, they found the man dead in a car outside a home, GBI Special Agent in Charge Greg Ramey said.

The shooting occurred in Rising Fawn, in southern Dade County near the Alabama-Georgia state line. Ramey said investigators know why the man was in the area where he was killed. They are still working on interviewing witnesses.

"We have theories on what happened," he said this morning. "But as far as facts to back that up? No. ... We are short on facts and long on investigation."
