A group of Cleveland High School basketball players have been suspended after allegedly breaking curfew and engaging in sexual contact, according to a news release from Cleveland City Schools.

While the team was staying in Oak Ridge, Tenn., for a tournament, a group of 12 players, including both males and females, violated curfew by leaving their assigned rooms around 2 a.m., the release states. Of the 12 players, high school administration concluded that five had "various degrees of consensual sexual contact."

The five students who allegedly engaged in sexual contact received a five-day suspension, and will also face additional basketball sanctions - which could include suspension or dismissal from the teams - to be determined by the Activity Council.

The seven other students who simply broke curfew face possible sanctions from the Activity Council including suspension from the team.

An incident report has also been filed with the Cleveland Police Department, according to the release.
