A man was arrested after allegedly attempting to shoot a woman in the head Thursday afternoon on the 3000 block of Adkisson Drive Northwest in Cleveland, Tenn., police say.

Wade Keitt, 37, is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful carrying of weapon, firearm-possession during dangerous felony, reckless endangerment and theft of property-possession of stolen property.

The 911 call came just after 3 p.m. A woman said that Keitt fired a handgun point blank range at her head in front of his apartment. She was apparently uninjured, according to Sgt. Evie West of the Cleveland Police Department.

At the scene, Cleveland police and Bradley County Sheriff's Office deputies found one spent 9mm shell casing in the parking lot and a SCCY 9mm gun.

Cleveland police were able to establish communication with the Keitt, and he came to the door and was taken into custody. He was later transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.

Upon further investigation it was discovered that Keitt has numerous felony convictions.

Further investigation revealed that the gun that was recovered from the scene, and identified by the victim as the gun used by Keitt, was reported stolen from Cleveland on Dec. 21.

After Keitt was released from the hospital, he was transported to the Bradley County Justice Center.
