Man who allegedly kidnapped, raped man in Chattanooga on the loose

A man who allegedly raped and kidnapped another man in Chattanooga is on the loose, according to a release from the police department.

Police are searching for Demetrius Bailey, 37. He is a 6-foot 3-inch black man weighing approximately 315 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Bailey allegedly asked the victim, who was a stranger, for a ride to a residence on 12th Ave. Tuesday before kidnapping the man at gunpoint and holding him hostage. The victim was able to escape Friday morning.

Before escaping, the victim told police he was sexually assaulted, according to the release. A slew of officers and special operation units are searching for Bailey.

Bailey was last arrested Jan. 5 on a string of theft charges totaling more than $30,000.
