A female inmate in the Bradley County jail attempted to harm herself Wednesday, according to the Bradley County 911 Center.

A dispatch report said the call came in at 1:28 p.m. that a 37-year-old woman in a residence pod had jumped off a top bunk and injured her feet.

A jail employee told the dispatcher the woman had tried to hang herself about an hour earlier and was put on suicide watch.

She said the woman was described as conscious, alert and breathing but was confused and didn't know what year it is.

The woman was transported by ambulance to a hospital.

This comes one day after another Bradley County Jail inmate was airlifted to Erlanger hospital following a fight with another prisoner.

The sheriff's office would not release any information about when or where that incident took place, citing federal laws protecting patient medical information.

The sheriff's office also did not immediately respond to a request for information on this afternoon's suicide attempt.
