Missing Calhoun, Georgia man's body found

The body of a 31-year-old Calhoun, Georgia man who was reported missing Friday morning was found Sunday morning off Kirby Road, according to the Calhoun Police Department.

Gordon County Sheriff's Office deputies found the body of Jordon Luke Baldridge in a wooded area at about 11:30 a.m., Calhoun police said in a statement.

Deputies had searched that area over the weekend.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime scene unit and police detectives processed the scene and retrieved evidence. The body has been taken to the GBI Crime Lab for examination to determine the cause of death.

"I would like to thank the Gordon County Sheriff's Office as well as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for their assistance in this matter," Calhoun police Chief Tony Pyle said. "Both [agencies'] assistance in this investigation has proven to be invaluable."
