Responders took a man to a local hospital for treatment after he was shot near the downtown riverfront Monday night.
Police arrived on scene to the 100 block of Riverfront Parkway at 6:27 p.m. and found Kenyon Thomas, 30, suffering from a minor gunshot wound. Paramedics transported him to a hospital, according to a news release.
A witness told police that a man approached the victim, started a verbal disorder, shot him and fled the area.
Investigators are still working to uncover what happened in the shooting and ask anyone with information to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.
