Lightning appears to have hit a chimney on the Hunter Museum and knocked some bricks loose Monday afternoon, according to the Chattanooga Fire Department.

There was no fire, and no injuries were reported, fire department spokesman Bruce Garner said.

Lightning is also believed to have hit the James Building, he said. No injuries have been reported, though not much additional information is available at this time.

He was told that the lightning strike knocked loose some bricks on that building as well. Firefighters called a city building inspector to look at the damage and let them know what should be done to ensure the area around the building is safe.
