Authorities say a man has been charged in connection with the Monday death of another man found dead at a home in South Pittsburg, Tenn.

Kordell D. Griffin, 22, of South Pittsburg, was charged Monday in the death of 19-year-old Buford E. Reyna Jr. Griffin faces one count of criminal homicide and one count of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to a statement from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Griffin was booked into the Marion County Jail, where he is being held without bond.

The investigation began after a call early Monday to 911 dispatchers in Marion County reporting that a man had been found dead at a home in the 300 block of Chance Road in South Pittsburg. Officials said Marion County Sheriff's deputies and South Pittsburg Police Department officers responded to the home, where they found Reyna's body.

"During the course of the investigation, agents developed information that identified Kordell Griffin, an acquaintance of the victim, as the individual responsible for his death," TBI officials said in the statement.

An autopsy was expected to be completed Wednesday, according to the TBI.
