Cleveland Police Department accepting applicants for youth academy

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Cleveland (Tenn.) Police Department is accepting applicants for its Youth Police Academy classes for children ages 9-14.

The police youth academy introduces children to specialized units such as K-9, SWAT and the bomb squad. They meet detectives and crime scene investigators and hear officers talk about what they do.

All classes will be held at the Cleveland Police Services Building, 100 Church St. NE, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

Dates are June 4-7 for ages 12-14, June 18-20 for ages 9-14, and July 9-12 for ages 12-14.
