One of two injured in downtown Chattanooga fight sent to jail

Police initially responded to stabbing reports

One person is in custody in connection to an aggravated assault Wednesday evening, according to Chattanooga police.

Two people got in a fight and both suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were found in separate locations, one in the 700 block of East 11th Street at 8:10 p.m. and the other call was to the 1000 block of Bailey Avenue at 8:25 p.m.

Though the calls were initially reported as stabbings, only one person received cuts from a glass bottle.

One of the two is a suspect and is in custody, Simmons said.
